Ethan's Nursery

After Elliott and I moved into our own place two weeks ago and getting all our Christmas decorations set up this weekend, I finally got around to taking some pictures of Ethan's room, which I've been meaning to do since probably about two weeks ago. Other than the kitchen, Ethan's room was one of the first rooms we made sure was all set up and ready, because we didn't want to still be setting it up when he was all ready here. So, it's been basically done since that first weekend we moved. The only thing we have left to do, is to put up his valance, which I think Elliott plans on doing this week sometime. Then we're done! Yea! Here's some pictures:

Thankful

In honor of Thanksgiving, which is my favorite holiday, a few things I am thankful for this year...

Elliott, the bestest husband I could have ever asked for.
Ethan, our little miracle.
My family, who are always supportive of Elliott and I.
Having a relatively easy pregnancy with no complications so far....and only 2 weeks to go!
Our kitties, who bring us so much happiness when they're not getting into trouble.  ;o)
Moving into our own place after almost 2 years.

These are just a few things that God has blessed me with this year!

An Amazing Three Years....and Many More to Come

So, Elliott and I have officially been married for 3 years as of yesterday at approximately 6pm. I can't believe it's been 3 years all ready and I really can't believe we grown even closer than we had been before we were married. The past three years have definitely had it's obsticles, but to my surprise, they haven't affected our marriage in a negative way....they have only brought us closer and solidified our beliefs that we make a great team. I can honestly say that I've never been happier than I am at this point in my life and can't even begin to imagine my life without Elliott in it. And now, with our first baby due to be here in less than a month and getting settled in our new home, everything is going perfectly and we're ready to face a new set of challenges....parenthood.

On Our Own Again!

It's crazy to think that it's been almost two years since we last had our own place. What's stranger still is the idea that our wedding presents have been in storage longer than they were used. Life's funny, in a weird way. We've had our life stuffed in boxes and plastic tubs for so long I don't know what I'll do when we actually have room to stretch. I feel institutionalized to a degree. Not just because of the move, but because our life finally feels like it's back on track. It was a long detour, and a detour we had to take, but that doesn't really make it easier. This move symbolizes, to me, that we're finally ready to step forward. This step is huge and Mimi and I are actually in charge of our own destiny. The scary thing is that we really will be out there. After being protected and insulated for these past two years, we're finally leaving the safety of our family. Of course they'll always be there, but I hope we're strong enough to stand alone. No, I know we're strong enough to. I know we'll be fine. I know that we can do it. And, while I know we'll always have help and support, I know we also have to move forward and get to a point in our lives where we can finally stabilize. I'm so happy about this move, for what it symbolizes and what it means.

Tis the Season for Anniversaries...

Did you know, that as of this past Thursday, Elliott and I have been together for 9 years?  I can't believe it's been that long.  We started "going out" in our Senior year in high school, on November 6th, 1999 and 6 years, 1 week, and 5 days later, we got married ... November 18th, 2005.  It's funny to think how much things have changed,  for the better of course....

More and More Baby Stuff!!

Just wanted to post that Elliott, Ethan, and I had our baby shower yesterday.  Everything was perfect!  We had a really good time and it was nice to see all our family and friends!  It seemed like everyone enjoyed themselves.  The food was good, the cake was good, and everything looked so cute!  We got tons of gifts for Ethan and so many things that we'll need and everyone was beyond generous.  We got so many books, which is awesome because we'll be able to read to Ethan all the time.  I'm glad it was on Saturday because that gives me all day today to recuperate, which I really need since I'm still worn out from yesterday. We got alot of good pictures which I'll post later for everyone to enjoy....especially a really cute one of Elliott with a hooded lion towel on his head!  Stay tunes for pictures!
